Did you know that all three members of BLISK have Ukrainian roots? Nastasia Y was born in Ukraine, Stephania was born into the Ukrainian-Canadian diaspora, and Ekaterina has some Ukrainian ancestry. We are devastated by the unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine, and are working tirelessly both together and separately to help Ukraine in any way we can. The photo above is from the “With Ukraine” Benefit Concert (March 11, 2022), organized by a collective of local artists and musicians who came together the day after the invasion began (more info here), with the goal of raising awareness about the invasion, sharing Ukrainian culture, and raising funds to purchase humanitarian, military and other aid for Ukraine. With the help of nearly 1000 audience members, and several hundred more who tuned in online, the benefit successfully raised over $34,000 in one day! You can watch the 4.5hr long concert, featuring 55 local musicians here.

While the war continues on, Ukraine is still in dire need of support. It’s been an amazing four years of performances, but it was time to pull up our boot straps and lay down an album! After several delays we finally got into the studio and recorded the songs. We can’t wait for you to hear it - it includes some very special guests!
